 Association donates furniture to FRSC in Delta By Clara Egbogota  Asaba, Nov.20, 2024 (NAN) The Association of Agbor Drivers on Thursday donated office furniture to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Delta State Command. Presenting the items, the Association Chairman Mr  Isioma Peters said the gesture was part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of the association. Mr Peters commended FRSC on its efforts to safeguard peoples’ lives and properties and urged the leadership to redouble efforts to ensure safer roads. He said that FRSC leadership had ensured maximum execution of the organisation’s mandates and said that association deemed it fit to complement their services. “FRSC’s efforts were benefiting the public in view of persistent cases of road crashes occurring in our society,’’ he said. Kwaghe has assumed duty as the new Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Delta State. This is contained in a statement signed by Mrs Stella-maris Ogbummuo, NYSC state Information and Public Relations Officer, on Wednesday in Asaba. The statement said that Kwaghe, who until his recent appointment was the Deputy Director in charge of Career Management at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters Abuja. Kwaghe who hails from Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Maiduguri Borno State. Mr Frederick Ogidan, Sector Commander, FRSC Delta Command, made the appeal at a news conference in commemoration of World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Crash Victims (RTC) on Monday in Asaba. The Delta Sector Commander, Mr Frederick Ogidan, said this at the flag-off of the 2024 Ember month campaign on Tuesday in Asaba. The ember month campaign had its theme: “Speak Up Against Dangerous Driving: Road Accident Kill More Passengers Than Drivers.” “We are shifting our emphasis from drivers to passengers during the campaign, for a driver to die, he must have killed a minimum of eight passengers. “The ember month is characterised by traffic influx, and it is also characterised by road hazard and crashes, that is why people think evil spirits are at work. “We know that vehicles influx is higher and drivers want to make quick money and that is why we have to alert members of the public to ensure they preach safety,” he said.
