Delta FRSC deploys 1500 personnel, special marshals for Easter celebration

The Federal Road Safety Corps Delta Command has said that it will deployed 1,500 personnel including Special Marshals to ensure the safety of lives and property on our roads.

Mr Fredrick Ogidan, the Sector Commander FRSC on Saturday said that more than 20 patrol vehicles and bikes, two ambulances, and a 70-tonne heavy-duty tow truck have been strategically positioned across major corridors.

According to him, the Command is also partnering with the State Tow Truck Association to ensure swift obstruction clearance.

"In compliance with the directive of the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, the 2025 Easter Special Patrol has officially commenced nationwide from Wednesday, 16th April to Tuesday, 23rd April 2025.

"The special operation is aimed at reducing road traffic crashes, fatalities, and injuries; ensuring prompt response to crash victims; facilitating unhindered public education; and guaranteeing the speedy removal of obstructions from the highways.

"In Delta State, public enlightenment has been scaled up in motor parks, churches, mosques, and on media platforms. Enforcement patrols and mobile courts will also be on ground to ensure strict compliance with traffic rules," he said.

The Sector Commander urges all road users to avoid speeding, overloading, use of phones while driving, and driving under influence.

He also urged road users to always use their seatbelt, ensure that their vehicle is roadworthy, and plan journeys with adequate rest.

"As Christians mark the Easter celebration, the FRSC Delta Sector Command wishes all a peaceful and joyous season.

"May the message of love, hope, and sacrifice that Easter brings reflect in how we treat one another on and off the road .

"Drive to stay alive — your safety is our concern.(NAN)(nannews.com.ng)
